Add Mount for a gorgeously thick mount to present your artwork in a 12" x 16" frame.

Ephemera sandpiper painting for the seaside loving art or bird lover.

Well gosh! Isn't Samson a handsome fella? He's an old soul this one, full of the seafaring knowledge needed to guide his flock home and keep them safe. With a deep baritone, he commands respect without ever uttering a harsh word, revered for his gentle manner and guiding presence.

Listen to the sandpipers sweet call on the RSPB site here

This sandpiper was created using collage elements from old books, maps, music sheets and dressmaking patterns over acrylic paint with a simple word symbolic of friendship. Beautifully textural and feathersome!

How do I name them? Well, the clues are in their makeup! The character of their personality is inspired by their pose and the text or imagery in the fragments of collage paper in their makeup. From there I choose a name which reflects those attributes. It's all a bit of fun really but well worth a closer look at their feathers to see what you can spot and decipher which word has been written.

From the Oceans Apart series which explores the shifting nature of friends & friendships as they flow in and out of your life for a reason or a season.

Details: Acrylic paint & mixed ephemera. Cool blues with contrasting black words and and a selection of vintage maps, books, dress patterns and music sheets.  Finished with archival varnish to preserve your artwork from UV rays & dust.

Size: 210mm x 297mm  A4 Watercolour Paper ready to be slipped into a mount and framed. For delivery purposes, this will be sent in a flat envelope and classed as Small Artwork at the shipping stage if checkout.

Framing: Please Add Mount for this piece to come with a gorgeously thick snowy white mount to present your artwork in a standard 12" x 16" frame for maximum impact. Alternatively, keep it simple by slipping it straight into an A4 frame without a mount which would look great for a smaller area or as part of a gallery wall display.
