Two years ago, I moved my studio practice from Lydney into my little summerhouse at home. It gave me the freedom to create larger, more expressive paintings – but at the same time, all of my finished work had to be tucked away into storage. Sadly, when Storm Darragh hit last November, the storage unit flooded. While I lost a few pieces, I was fortunate to rescue most of my collection and bring them safely home.

Since then, I've been quietly searching for a space that could hold both my artwork and my day-to-day painting practice – somewhere that felt light, calm and welcoming. I'm so happy to share that I've finally found it.

Over the past week, I've been transforming a former tattoo studio into my new studio and shop. What was once a neglected little space is now full of light, colour and possibility. It may be small, but it already feels just right – a place where I can paint during the week whilst also opening the doors to visitors on Saturdays, weekday lunchtimes and by appointment.

Once I'm fully settled, this space will also become home to my group workshops and 1:1 immersive painting sessions – something I've been dreaming of offering in a dedicated setting again.

Set within The Shambles Retail Village in the historic market town of Newent, my new artist studio and gallery sits among a wonderful mix of neighbours — from an art gallery and courtyard café to a wellness barn, Pilates studio, hair salon, dog spa, antique curios, a vintage board game museum and a shop of handmade clothes and accessories. Everyone I've met so far has been lovely and it feels like such a warm and welcoming community.

There's still a little way to go (the frontage needs its fresh coat of paint and signage), but the inside is ready – and I can't wait to welcome you in.

I'm so looking forward to sharing this next chapter with you.
