THE BLUE SERIES
I've been exploring the blues, drawing on inspiration from my many trips to windswept beaches along our Welsh, Scottish & English coastlines to create a harmonious palette of blue and sandy hues. The shapes and forms of fishing boats, buoys and lobster pots have been guiding my initial mark making and layers. As I've moved onto larger canvases, I've continued by using brushstrokes which emulate my feeling and impression of the ocean's energy.
As always, I never have a set idea of where the paintings will go - there's no vision for a finished piece. At this stage it's all about exploration and trusting that something beautiful will develop by following my intuition.
My only parameter has been to stick with the cool, blue and teal palette and create a series that truly speaks to the beach lovers out there.
So when I started to inch towards pinks, I sacrificed just two of those canvases to follow that urge and kept the others safely on one side to continue when I'm ready!

DRIFTING LIGHT
Perhaps it was working with the energy of the rough seas and deep blues which unsettled me but I felt drawn to the tranquility of pinks. In doing so, I created a small collection of abstract paintings with soft expressive marks in hues of blues, greens and peaches. The paintings resemble calm bodies of water where magnolia blossoms drift on sun dappled surfaces.
These are truly special as I've only created 8 paintings. Sometimes it happens that way. A fleeting moment of magic. A call to deviate momentarily before I return to my other project.
I'm calling the series Drifting Light and hope to upload the paintings for sale within the next few days. These paintings are really gorgeous and invite a sense of calm and reflection - offering a peaceful escape from the rush of daily life. I can't wait to share them with you. Please sign up to my email newsletter to hear first about the series release.

“How’s the new gallery going?”
I’ve been asked this a lot lately… and honestly, it’s going so well. The biggest joy? Hearing people walk in and say how light, bright and full of life the space feels now ✨ Same location, fresh new energy, and a beautiful mix of artists to discover. If you haven’t visited yet, I’d love to welcome you in.
