David A Lamb Ceramics is a potter who creates a wide range of handcrafted domestic ware, with more than 40 different shapes in his collection. His work includes bowls, jugs, pitchers, storage jars, tankards, coffee mugs, cup and saucers, casseroles and baking dishes in a variety of sizes. Each piece is high-fired for strength and durability, making it oven, dishwasher and microwave safe, and suitable for the freezer too. Derek began potting in the mid-1980s and was fortunate to learn from tutor Sally Dawson before further developing his throwing skills at the Gladstone Pottery Museum in the 1990s. Alongside making his own work, he teaches adult education classes and one-to-one throwing, and is well known for his rich Bosphorus blue and light turquoise glazes.
