Siobhan Joan is a potter specialising in wheel-thrown domestic stoneware, creating thoughtfully crafted ceramics designed for everyday use. Working from Earthrise Pottery Studio in Worcester, she produces her own collections alongside teaching pottery workshops and sharing her passion for clay with others. Siobhan studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and has been making pottery for over a decade, developing a practice that balances function, simplicity and sustainability. A member of both the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire Guilds of Craftsmen, her work has also been featured in Country Living Modern Rustic magazine. Sustainability plays an important role in her process, from developing simple glazes with fewer harsh oxides to incorporating waste materials such as locally gathered plant ash, wood ash and eggshells. Her ceramics are fired using a renewably powered electric kiln, reflecting her mindful and environmentally conscious approach to making.
